This car is unique to me personally because I know the whole history of the car. To make it short, the original owner purchased this car new and enjoyed it for many years with her boyfriend. Although the two of them broke-up, they remained good friends, even after she took a teaching job in Japan. When she couldn't take the car with her, it went to her former boyfriend. He kept the car for several years, but parked it after it needed an exhaust and brake lines. This is when he posted the car for sale and I found it. I'm a person who often looks for Mustangs to buy whether I have the money or not, so after I buy one, I go on a hiatus from looking. The less I look for Mustangs, the less tempted I am to buy. Well, this one was fate. The same day I ended my hiatus of looking, well, needless to say I found her! At a very fair price, I had it in my yard days later. I will admit that I thought about selling this car three times, but every single time I had inquiries, I always passed. I don't know how and I don't know why, but I'm very attached to this car and she has done nothing but treat me well! This is why I plan on eventually doing a frame off restoration!
This car is a really rare car, as it is 1 of 470 GT’s of this bodystyle in this color combo (exterior: gray/titanium; interior: gray) in '89, original 85mph cluster (not the 140mph, as only the first few Mustangs in 1989 got the 85mph cluster), and a strict A/C delete car (by the identification codes, original radio and power options). Although it is not a mint condition car, it won a 3rd place trophy at the Tasca Ford (RI) car show during the '07 summer in the class of stock 1974-2007 Mustangs. This is 99.9% stock. The only modification is the exhaust system (H-pipe back, has cats). I put in a Vortec exhaust that was the closest thing I could get to stock sound without spending a fortune. I use only 93-octane and get roughly 22-25mpg depending on where I drive and whether the top is up or down.
